Expanded Brown Route to Begin November 9th

Effective November 9th, 2026, Advance Transit is pleased to announce improvements to its fare-free Brown Route, including two new stops and increased service to the Norwich Park & Ride. These enhancements are designed to improve accessibility, provide more convenient transportation options, and strengthen connections between Norwich, Hanover, and the surrounding Upper Valley communities. The new expanded Brown Route will begin November 9th, 2026.
The expanded Brown Route includes the following improvements:

  • New Stop at King Arthur Baking Café and Store: Riders can now travel directly to the front door of King Arthur Baking's popular café and retail store in Norwich. This convenient new stop provides greater access for employees, customers, and visitors while supporting connections to one of the Upper Valley's most well-known local destinations.
  • New Stop at Oak Hill/Storr's Pond: A new stop serving the Oak Hill and Storr's Pond area in Hanover expands access to outdoor recreation, including hiking trails, recreational facilities, and other opportunities to enjoy the Upper Valley's natural beauty.
  • Increased Service to Norwich Park & Ride: Additional stops at the Norwich Park & Ride provide riders with more frequent service and greater flexibility when traveling between Norwich, Hanover, and other destinations along the route.

“We are excited to expand access and improve connections for those who utilize public transportation throughout the Upper Valley,” said Ashley Manning, Interim Executive Director of Advance Transit. “By adding two new stops and providing consistent, all-day service to the Park & Ride, we are making it easier for people to access jobs, businesses, and essential services. These improvements reflect our continued commitment to meeting the needs of our communities and providing reliable, accessible transportation.”

The Brown Route improvements are part of Advance Transit's ongoing efforts to provide efficient, accessible, and sustainable transportation throughout the Upper Valley. By enhancing connections to local destinations and increasing service at key transportation hubs, Advance Transit continues to support economic vitality, community engagement, and transportation accessibility.

As always, all Advance Transit services are completely fare-free, removing financial barriers to transportation. Advance Transit's accessible buses accommodate riders of all ages and abilities, including individuals using wheelchairs, mobility devices, and strollers.

Community members are encouraged to explore the updated Brown Route schedule and take advantage of these new transportation opportunities.
