Dry Bridge Closure Begins September 14 — What Riders Need to Know

The Dry Bridge on Route 12A will close to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic beginning Monday, September 14, 2026 at 7 AM. This closure is part of the ongoing Dry Bridge replacement project.

To maintain access across the corridor, a temporary pedestrian bridge has been placed adjacent to the Dry Bridge. This temporary structure will be:

· Open and fully accessible to foot traffic before the September 14 closure

· Available for use throughout the entire Dry Bridge closure period

· ADA compliant

· Open to bicyclists, with the City strongly encouraging riders to dismount and walk their bicycles across the bridge for pedestrian safety

How This Affects Advance Transit Service

During the Dry Bridge closure, Advance Transit will be unable to serve the current Red Route corridor between Main Street and Hannaford. This means there will be no Red Route service to the following stops for the duration of construction:

· Romano Circle

· Opposite Romano Circle

· Glen Road Plaza

· Opposite Glen Road Plaza (Hannaford)

Riders will need to access the Red Route from the nearest available stops:

· Main & Church

· Opp Main & Church

· Shaw’s
