Advance Transit to Search for a New Executive Director as Adams Carroll Announces Plans to Step Down

Change is on the horizon at Advance Transit. Our Executive Director, Adams Carroll, has announced that he will be stepping down from his role. Adams will continue to lead the organization until a new director is found, ensuring a smooth transition.

This news marks the beginning of a new chapter for Advance Transit. We’re launching a nationwide search for a new leader who can build upon the strong foundation Adams and the entire Advance Transit team have laid to guide our fare-free public transit system into the future.

During his tenure, Adams has been dedicated to driving Advance Transit’s mission forward. Under his guidance, we've expanded our routes, extended our schedules, grown our ridership, modernized our fleet and facilities, and strengthened our commitment to accessibility and environmental sustainability.

“It's been the honor of my professional life to lead this incredible organization and work alongside such a dedicated team,” Adams shared. “I'm immensely proud of what we've accomplished together. I'm confident that Advance Transit is well-positioned for a bright future, and the time is right for a new leader to step in and continue to innovate and serve our community.”

Searching for a New Leader

The search for our next Executive Director is officially underway. Advance Transit’s Board of Directors is seeking a dynamic, experienced leader with a deep passion for public service and a vision for the future of sustainable transportation. We're looking for someone who can understand the unique needs of the Upper Valley and who is ready to lead us into our next phase of growth.

While we'll greatly miss Adams’s leadership, we're optimistic about Advance Transit’s future and the opportunities that lie ahead. Adams’s legacy aligns with our longstanding commitment to providing free, accessible transit for everyone, and we are determined to find a new director who will continue to uphold and advance that mission.
