Safety & Compliance Officer

Advance Transit is seeking a Safety & Compliance Officer to lead and strengthen our safety culture across all transit operations. This role plays a critical part in protecting our passengers, employees, and the public while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and agency safety regulations.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, training employees, working collaboratively, and making a measurable impact in their community.

What You’ll Do

Regulatory & Compliance Oversight

  • Manage DOT/FMCSA driver qualification files and certifications
  • Ensure compliance with CDL, medical cards, and Hours-of-Service rules
  • Maintain OSHA workplace safety compliance and required recordkeeping
  • Administer FTA Title VI civil rights program documentation
  • Serve as contact during audits and inspections

Safety Program & Training

  • Maintain and update the Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP)
  • Develop and deliver employee safety training and refresher courses
  • Lead safety meetings
  • Track safety certifications and training completion

Accident Investigation & Risk Prevention

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and employee injuries
  • Perform root-cause analysis and corrective action planning
  • Monitor trends and produce safety performance reports
  • Coordinate workers compensation safety prevention efforts

Driver Coaching & Monitoring

  • Conduct ride-alongs and observations
  • Review camera footage and provide coaching
  • Support a proactive, positive safety culture

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years experience in safety, compliance, transportation, or related field
  • Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations
  • Experience conducting training or coaching employees
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze problems and implement solutions
  • Valid driver’s license

Starting Pay: $33.00/hour | Full-Time

Training Coordinator

Advance Transit is hiring a Training Coordinator to train and support bus drivers and help maintain a strong safety culture across our operations. If you enjoy mentoring others, teaching skills, and making a difference in your community — this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct CDL ELDT and new driver orientation training
  • Train drivers on fixed routes, schedules, and procedures
  • Provide behind-the-wheel and tablet training
  • Coach and evaluate driver performance
  • Assist with safety programs and committee initiatives
  • Maintain training records and materials
  • Collaborate with operations leadership
  • Occasionally cover driving assignments

Qualifications

  • CDL Class B or A with Passenger & Air Brake endorsements
  • Valid DOT Medical Card
  • Meets ELDT Trainer requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong communication and coaching skills
  • Safety-focused and dependable
  • Basic computer/tablet skills

Schedule & Environment

  • Full-time position
  • Flexible schedule (occasional Saturdays)
  • Mix of classroom, office, and field training

Paid CDL Training Provided

City Bus Driver

Advance Transit is seeking a dependable, courteous, and safety-conscious bus driver to operate vehicles, transporting passengers over specified local routes in a safe and professional manner.  

SIGNING BONUS: $1,500 signing bonus for new hires who have a CDL with passenger endorsement

OVERTIME ELIGIBLE: All CDL driver roles receive overtime pay for over 40 hours worked in one week; in addition, any hours worked on Saturdays are paid at the overtime rate.
